Is Black Panther coming to Epcot??

Orlando Weekly speculates on the a closed Epcot exhibit be repurposed  to house a new Black Panther exhibit.  Disney would be foolish to not take advantage of the surprise theatrical success of a minor character in the super hero genre, which lends it self to all the things that Disney loves.

There are hurdles to overcome in the form of the long standing Marvel agreement with Universal Islands of Adventures which features rides such as the Hulk and Spider Man and owns marketing rights to the Marvel characters for theme park rides and entertainment.  But Disney has managed to get Spider Man and the Fantastic Four out of their deal with Sony and  are working with Fox Studios to regain control of the Xmen so it isn’t impossible to think they might manage to pull of a similar arrangement with Black Panther.

International Woman’s Day

Today is International Woman’s Day around the world!

It wasn’t until 1975 that the UN finally made March 8 the official International Woman’s Day a calendar event for the world making it the day to recognize woman’s achievements across every walk of life.  So take a moment today and acknowledge the woman that make your life great!

You would have to be living under a rock to not notice that their is a current wave of empowerment for woman taking place in pop culture at the moment so this International Woman’s Day is a lot higher profile that previous, but if you have never heard of it before well here is a little background.

Not every culture or society has a Mothers Day and not every woman is a mother so in 1909 the US had the first National Women’s Day celebration in honor of the garment workers strike in the state of New York.  It was a year later that Copenhagen held the first Woman’s Day conference with an international attendance with 100 attendees from multiple countries.  By 1911 the idea had caught on inaugural International Woman’s Day was held in 3 countries.

So take a moment and acknowledge all the woman that have made a contribution to your life!

Disney Park Prices Are Going Up!

The Happiest Place on Earth just decided to make us all a little unhappier!

The logic for the price increases is that the increases will be combined date specific pricing in an attempt to spread park attendance throughout the year.    It seems clear that  Disney intends tocan use pricing to combat seasonality and control attendance figures, especially during peak periods!

There’s A New Sheriff In Town

Move over Harry Potter! Make way for Woody and Buzz!

Disney recently announced more details about the 11 acre Toy Story Land which will be a main attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Toy Story Land is to open this summer a year ahead of the planned release of Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 4 movie.

The Mirror has a great article about Toy Story 4 here.

All that is left is to write “Andy” on the bottom of your feet. (Where did we put that Sharpie?)
